BobCode vs Claude Code: same idea, every model

Is BobCode better than Claude Code?

Claude Code is excellent and single-vendor by design. BobCode is the same shape of tool with every vendor behind it.

Claude Code gives you the best of one lab. BobCode gives you the best of all of them.

What makes BobCode different

Four differences that decide it.

Every model vs. one lab

Claude Code runs Claude, and Claude only. That is a deliberate, well-executed choice. BobCode runs Claude alongside GPT, Gemini, DeepSeek and Qwen, and gives each step to whichever is strongest at it.

When the leaderboard moves, Claude Code waits. BobCode already has the new one.

Whole team vs. developer-shaped

Claude Code is built for people comfortable in a terminal. BobCode ships desktop and mobile apps with the same harness underneath, so the person doing the reporting can use it without learning the shell.

Claude Code is for the engineers. BobCode is for the engineers and everyone they work with.

Beyond the codebase

Claude Code is anchored to your codebase. BobCode does the code work and also the deck, the research brief, the CRM update and the recurring Monday routine, in the same run.

One is a coding agent. The other is a coworker who can also code.

It can command Claude Code

BobCode drives Anthropic’s official Claude Agent SDK as a subagent, in the same workspace, and folds the answer back into the run. Claude Code has no equivalent — it cannot delegate to BobCode.

You do not have to choose. BobCode calls Claude Code in when the step wants it.

One subscription vs. four

At $20 a month Claude Code gives you Claude. At $20 a month BobCode gives you Claude, GPT, Gemini and the rest — which is what four separate subscriptions used to cost around $80 for.

Same price. Four times the models.

What BobCode does better

Where it pulls ahead of Claude Code.

01

Keep Claude Code and use it from inside BobCode

The official Claude Agent SDK runs as a subagent in your workspace. Nothing gets ripped out; the step that wants Claude Code gets it.

02

The model changes, you do not migrate

A better model ships every few weeks. Routing moves to it; your routines, connectors and habits stay exactly where they are.

03

Non-developers get the same harness

Real macOS, Windows, iOS and Android apps — not a terminal with a friendly wrapper.

04

100+ business connectors

HubSpot, Salesforce, Stripe, Shopify, Notion, the Google suite. Claude Code is pointed at your repo; BobCode is pointed at your company.

05

A console instead of a transcript

Watch the run as a set of steps you can pause, correct or roll back — not a scrollback you have to read.

06

Cheap models do the cheap steps

Most steps in a job do not need a flagship. Routing them to a fast cheap model is what lets one plan carry every vendor.

When to use each

Honestly, they are not the same tool.

Claude Code’s integration with Anthropic’s own models is deep and carefully tuned, and its terminal ergonomics are excellent. On Claude-only coding work it is a very high bar.

Claude

Use Claude Code when you need

  • The deepest possible integration with Anthropic’s own models
  • A terminal-native workflow and nothing else
  • Claude’s specific behaviour on long code edits
  • Anthropic as your single vendor and single invoice

Claude Code excels at Claude-native coding, and the bar it sets there is high.

BobCode

Use BobCode when you need

  • More than one model, without switching tools when the leaderboard moves
  • The non-developers on the team to use the same thing
  • Work that is not code — decks, research, CRM, recurring routines
  • Connectors into the business systems, not just the repo
  • Every frontier model in one plan, free to start
  • To keep Claude Code and drive it from inside a bigger run

BobCode excels when the team is wider than engineering and the work is wider than the repo.

The short answer

Choose BobCode if you want more than one model or more than engineers using it. Choose Claude Code if you only ever want Claude, in a terminal.

FAQ

Common questions

How does one plan cover every model?
There is a free plan with every model in it, then Personal at $20 a month, Teams at $25 per user, Pro at $100 and Max at $200. All of them carry every frontier model. Most steps in a job do not need a flagship, so the router sends them to a fast cheap model and saves the expensive one for the steps that actually need it — which is what makes a single plan cover what four subscriptions used to.
Which models can I use?
Claude, GPT-class, Gemini, DeepSeek, Qwen and local open-weight models, plus image, speech and video models. You can let BobCode pick per step, or pin a step to a specific model.
What can it connect to?
Over 100 systems, including Notion, ChatGPT, Gmail, Google Drive, Sheets and Calendar, Slack, GitHub, Jira, Stripe, HubSpot, Salesforce, Shopify and Figma. NEEDS_INPUT — publish the full directory.
Can I use my own API key?
Yes, and it costs you nothing extra. Bring your key, pay the provider directly, and we take no cut. The full harness is still yours.
Where does my data go?
BobCode is local-first: runs happen on your machine and stay there unless you send them somewhere. Enterprise deployments can run entirely inside your own network.

Keep Claude. Add the rest.

Free to start, same price when you upgrade, and every frontier model in it.
