BobCode vs GitHub Copilot: autocomplete, or the whole job

Is BobCode better than GitHub Copilot?

Copilot is the best autocomplete in the editor. BobCode is an agent that finishes work across the machine.

Copilot helps you type faster. BobCode does the task while you do something else.

What makes BobCode different

Four differences that decide it.

Finishing tasks vs. completing lines

Copilot is at its best predicting the next lines as you write them, with an agent mode layered on top. BobCode starts from the outcome, plans the steps, and runs them until the thing is done.

Copilot makes the typing faster. BobCode removes the task.

Across the company vs. inside the repo

Copilot lives in the editor and in GitHub. BobCode connects to more than a hundred systems — the CRM, the billing, the docs, the chat — so a job can cross all of them in one run.

One knows your repository. The other knows your company.

Non-developers too

Copilot is for people who write code. BobCode ships desktop and mobile apps, so the person building the board deck uses the same tool as the person fixing the build.

One licence for engineering, or one tool for everyone.

Every frontier model

BobCode routes each step to the strongest model for it — Claude, GPT, Gemini, DeepSeek — and tells you which one ran, so a bad output has an address.

You see the model, and you can overrule it.

What BobCode does better

Where it pulls ahead of GitHub Copilot.

01

Whole deliverables, not suggestions

The refactor done and tested, not a suggested completion you accept line by line.

02

Work outside the repo

Research, decks, reports, campaigns, recurring ops — the majority of what a company actually produces.

03

Hours of unattended execution

Plans first, recovers from failures, keeps running after you close the laptop.

04

100+ connectors

Notion, Gmail, Sheets, Slack, HubSpot, Salesforce, Stripe, Shopify — with your credentials.

05

Every frontier model in one plan

Not one vendor’s models, and not a separate bill per vendor.

When to use each

Honestly, they are not the same tool.

Copilot’s inline completions are excellent and its GitHub integration is unmatched. At a low per-seat price for a big engineering org it is very hard to argue with, and many teams will run both.

GitHub Copilot

Use GitHub Copilot when you need

  • Fast inline completions while you type
  • Deep integration with GitHub pull requests and issues
  • A low per-seat price for a large engineering org
  • To stay entirely inside your existing IDE

Copilot excels at making an engineer who is already writing code write it faster.

BobCode

Use BobCode when you need

  • The task finished rather than accelerated
  • Work that never opens an editor
  • Non-developers using the same tool
  • Connectors into the business systems
  • Runs that continue while you are away

BobCode excels when you want the outcome, not a faster keyboard.

The short answer

Choose BobCode when you want the task done end to end and across systems. Choose Copilot when you want the fastest possible in-editor assist for engineers.

FAQ

Common questions

How does one plan cover every model?
There is a free plan with every model in it, then Personal at $20 a month, Teams at $25 per user, Pro at $100 and Max at $200. All of them carry every frontier model. Most steps in a job do not need a flagship, so the router sends them to a fast cheap model and saves the expensive one for the steps that actually need it — which is what makes a single plan cover what four subscriptions used to.
Which models can I use?
Claude, GPT-class, Gemini, DeepSeek, Qwen and local open-weight models, plus image, speech and video models. You can let BobCode pick per step, or pin a step to a specific model.
What can it connect to?
Over 100 systems, including Notion, ChatGPT, Gmail, Google Drive, Sheets and Calendar, Slack, GitHub, Jira, Stripe, HubSpot, Salesforce, Shopify and Figma. NEEDS_INPUT — publish the full directory.
Can I use my own API key?
Yes, and it costs you nothing extra. Bring your key, pay the provider directly, and we take no cut. The full harness is still yours.
Where does my data go?
BobCode is local-first: runs happen on your machine and stay there unless you send them somewhere. Enterprise deployments can run entirely inside your own network.
